We are very excited to be working alongside one of our successful catering clients in seeking a reliable, hard working and flexible Head Chef.
This position is based within a fast paced and busy kitchen in a school: you’ll be preparing, cooking and serving breakfasts, lunches and dinners to a large number of students, from primary ages to late teens.
Ensuring of smooth running in the kitchen at all times is essential in this role, as well as taking part in organising staff rotas for each week; covering some extra shifts when needed and being the first point of contact for all queries regarding the kitchen maintenance, suppliers and deliveries, EHO, Health and Safety, training and more. But of course, your main and most important duty will be preparing, cooking, and serving of all meals every day to a very high standard.
Being fully aware of the on health and safety, food hygiene and general cooking procedures and regulations is vital, along with the willingness to undergo a Full DBS check – to be accepted for this role you MUST have passed that DBS. This role is based in a rural location, so transport is highly desirable.
This is a very demanding, yet rewarding positon, offering many opportunities moving forward if you prove yourself to the client – for the right candidate, this primarily day-time Head Chef role is looking to pay up to £28,000pa.
Your core working hours will be Monday – Friday, however the occasional weekend shift around events and out of school development will be required. Shift patterns vary, and can be between 7am and 9pm, through 3 meal service times.
